Headon Stadium

Matamata, Matamata-Piako

Matamata-Piako District Council required major intervention to bolster their existing Headon Stadium. The original, 1974 timber sports floor was retained and protected while the entire building envelope was demolished to welcome a larger, contemporary industrial shell. The punchy, service core flanks the playing court and filters arrival, storage, change rooms, toilets, showers and meeting spaces. A lighthearted green ribbon delineates these programs, and alongside the timber accents breathes new light into the space.

Te Whare Hākinakina o Headon

Matamata, Matamata-Piako

Te taetaetanga mai o ngā ahu-kōti, ngā tātari maha, ngā rūma pātengi, ngā whare tīni kākāhu, ngā wharepaku, ngā hīrere me ngā waahi huihui. He karera te momo kākāriki i whakamahia hei kaikawe i ēnei whakarākei. Nō te kakara o te rākau hoki te whare e whakahou.
