Kauri Flats School

Takanini, Auckland

Kauri Flats is a new full primary school built on a green field site in Takanini, Auckland. The site was greenfield, and within a special housing area. The school will form an integral part of the new community. 

MOAA were engaged for full service from master plan through to contract observation. This included architecture and all subconsultants required to deliver the project. The consultant team were novated to a design-build contractor at commencement of detail design stage. 

The project delivers 2,865m2 for a roll of 350 students. The master plan was designed for future growth of 1,560m2 for a final roll of 700 students. 

The project also includes a satellite Northern Health School. This school consists of a separate building of 200m2 for students who for various health reasons are unable to attend their regular school. This was completed as Stage 1, which opened in June 2017.
