Hastings, Hawkes Bay

Flaxmere College is a major redevelopment of an existing high school due to identified weathertightness issues. The project will deliver 4,450sqm of entitlement. Two-thirds of the current building stock will be demolished and replaced. The design is based on the formation of a large new internal courtyard surrounded by existing and new buildings to create a safe environment for students.

The college has an emphasis on performance, technology and sport. The design intent is to form a sheltered and safe space.
